About Us
Why CVD Festival?

A Stage for Every Dancer
Founded by Cris Mendoza-Howell, the CVD Festival breaks barriers by offering free performance opportunities to dancers.
No amphitheater access? No problem. Whether you’re a seasoned troupe or a grassroots group, this is your platform.
Dynamic energy and growth fill the space — from bold movements to vibrant performances. The festival embraces creativity and inclusion, making it a welcoming place for all to shine.
Our Mission
Peace Through Dance
If dancers of all nations, ages, and abilities can share a stage, so can the world.
We raise funds to support dancers’ passions and foster cultural exchange.

FOUNDER

CVD Founder
Cris’s involvement in dance began in 1973 with the Philippine Barangay Society of Nigeria (PBSN). Her interests in various styles of dance led her to create this unique annual event beginning 2008.
There has never been one similar artistic event of this kind in the San Joaquin Valley. Her hope is that this event continues on annually while awakening the desire in each person to dance, regardless of age, culture, race or socio-economic background.
